YP Video Hood Shit

Hello Bloggers and Followers!

I have been trying to work super hard and get my makeup career going. I had the opportunity to do a video shoot. He is newly signed to Universal Records, recording artist, YP. He is a Chicago based rapper. I had to go makeup for 8 girls that day. It was a long shoot, but I think that the video came out amazing.

Please make sure that you follow these young girls Young Wonder. The have a great vision and are going to be real successful, their business mind is amazing.

Just a little info about the video, its all about the hood things that may take place, grilling cheese with an iron, counting money, women, and ice cream. If you are from Chicago, you can understand some of the stuff going on.

Please enjoy!

We arrived on Friday afternoon and got the day started by going to grab some grub and some mall action.
A group photo in one of the biggest malls in Ontario Canada. The mall had like three of four of every store. I must say that we were looked at and stared at. We were super fashionable and stylish!

We are representing Trinidad and Tobagoa  (in red) and I am representing Jamaica!

@mztiaramichele and I representing Trinidad and Tobago and I am representing Jamaica.

Yes people, That is Lance Gross, the sexist chocolate brother alive! For those that don't know him, he is a actor and stars on House of Payne, produced by Tyler Perry. The girls spotted him from a mile away. He turned around and put his finger over his lips. He didn't want to be recognized, but we had the honor of getting a picture with him! He had on a Channel glasses, chain and shirt. He looked super crisp and very sexy!

The end of the parade day! We were wiped out, but we were still looking fly!

Going out on Saturday! Different styles, but all fly!

A great dinner with some excellent service. We drove around trying to find one place and when we get there, they only had "King Fish", we were all pissed! So a local told us to go to 'Crystal's' and the food was great. The owner went out to buy us water and provide us samples of his ginger pineapple juice! It was worth it after all the driving around!
The picture says it, Welcome to Niagara Falls. At least we can say we have seen one of the seven wonders of the world. Niagara Falls was about an hour and a half from our hotel. We didn't stay long, but the view was breathtaking.

Behind our group picture is the falls. Also on the other side of the bridge, was Buffalo, New York. Niagara Falls boarders on both sides of the national and international side!

Time to go our for the last night. There would be some men waiting for us to come down for the evening to see what we were wearing. It was flattering. They all said that we are different girls and it was a honor to meet us and all of our fashions!

This last picture was taken at the Suya Spot on our way back to Chicago. The girls really ate good! The car smelled like onions and major spices!  They even treated us like celebrities!

Caribana 2012, Some of my looks....

Hello Followers and Bloggers

I went to Canada for Caribana 2012. To explain what caribana is, its one of the largest Caribbean parades in the country. It was a great trip, we even made it work with seven girls in one room. (There will be more blogs about different events coming soon. I took 400 pictures, so I have to break it up!)

Being a curvy plus size girl, I wanted to show that I look fun, and sexy at the same time. Here are some of my looks over the three days.

I must say I liked my outfits. Just remember, as my friend tod me, everyone has their own style.

The top is from American apparel, the shorts are from the thrift store and I decided to make them creative and put the Jamaican flag on them to represent my heritage! My friend Selby helped me cut the shorts, but I cut the flag and did the fun embellishment! Shoes are from Akria, (a Chicago only boutique), earrings from an accessory shop, purse from H and M, and makeup done my me!

My leopard one piece suit. I loved this suit. It was fitting and sexy! I got this jumpsuit from greatglam.com, my shoes are Jeffery Campbell, you can barely see them, but they are the ones with no heal. They are also from Akria. Purse and cuff from H and M,

This outfit was a one piece jumpsuit as well from the Kardashian Kollection, shoes from Akria, necklace from Forever 21, and purse from Jessica Simpson.

The one to the left is a Jamaican dress actually brought from Jamaica. It was the first day, so something comfortable to walk around in and explore the town. Flats from Spring, a spin off from Aldo, earrings from accessory shop.

The outfit to the right is the parade outfit. It was some really short shorts (the point was to be sexy), a top from discovery, my Jamaican flag, earrings from an accessory shop, and some chucks from Nordstrom Rack.

This was my favorite outfit of the whole trip. I felt old school and pin up girl at the same time. The scarf and top were brought at the thrift store. I took some embellishment from my jeans and applied stars to the top pocket. The skirt from Forever 21, purse from Dooney and Burke, flats from spring; a spin off from Aldo. Bangle, from a cruise I went on in 2010, and door knocker earrings from an accessory store. Makeup done by me.

My Bride Jemelah aka Puffy

Hello Bloggers and Followers!

Here is another bride I had the pleasure of working with, Jemelah. She was so sweet and cute. I had to complete 6 girls that day including her mother, the bride and four bridesmaids.

She was so grateful for everything and was a very calm and relaxed bride. She looked stunning and it the makeup application was easy brezzy. Now for the trail on the other hand, phewwww it gave me the flux! lol!

What really makes my job special is when I get messages like this, read below:

This message is directly from my client and that message really got me emotional and a cried a little (hey dont judge me, I love what I do). But messages like this is why I do what I do. I just want you to look amazing on your special day, whatever that may be. I dont want you to look caked on with makeup, I take the beauty you already have and make the rest work for you! That's why my motto is:

Full wedding gown! (I think her dress was amazing and it was perfect for her)

A side view of her makeup

Jemelah and her husband walking down the aisle as husband and wife. Even the hubby told me thank you and how amazing she looked!

Lastly, I loved the groomsmen suits. The color was amazing and they got to wear gymshoes! Lucky ducks! But they had some major swag, but the person who had the most swag was the ring barrier! He was out showing all the men!

My Bride Punchi (Indian Wedding)

Hello Followers and Bloggers!

I have been super busy with traveling and working, I haven't been blogging. Now its time to get back on track. I have so much to show and tell. But first, let me start with my bride, Punchi!

I had the pleasure of working with this young a month or so ago for her wedding taking place right outside of Oakbrook. She was marrying on a hot Saturday afternoon. It was funny, normally I do trials two to three weeks before the wedding, I completed her trial, the day before. Punchi was from California and her future husband lived in Chicago.

I completed 7 ladies looks, including the bride. It was really fun to work with these young ladies. They gave me gifts and snacks and welcomed me with open arms. They even offered for me to attend the wedding after I was done. I had to decline, because of prior engagements, but it was really sweet.

The bride hardly wore makeup, so she just wanted a simple look with a little glam. I think I achieved it. I wish Punchi and her new husband all the best in the world and all the best back in California!

This is just a final picstich of everything done. The lace thing at the bottom of the picture is a gift they gave me. It had some snack in it, but the bag was beautiful.
