Black Friday Shopping

Hello All,

I know that everyone is still getting over their turkey-coma and trying to get back into the real world. Also on that note, I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving with family and friends. The second comment is, I hope none of your friends or family memebers got abused on the Black Friday Shopping.

For those that don't klnow, Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving where normally all the stores around the world have discounts of 50% or more off of clothes, applances and electronics. From what I have seen over the years, many people go out for the $200 dollar flat screen TV's and $299 computers.

Many stores have opened thier doors over the years at 5am. About three years ago, some women at a Wal-Mart was trampled trying to get to the holiday sales. So now many stores are opening their doors at 12am, or giving away the deals at 12am so many people don't have to wait around crowding the store up. Personally, I think that really smart idea for the stores as well as it saves lives.

This year I decided to stay at home and not particapate in all of shopping and exciting that is going on in the streets. The one thing that I did want, I was able to get online! Done and Done!  So a lot of my twitter family, friends and such went out to brave the conditions of the Black Friday madness. On a good note, none of those people were arrested or charged with cutting the line. But I seen some pictures from Wal-Mart, where a guy was charged with cutting the line to get a 80' flat screen TV and he was held down and arrested by a guard. It seems to be a serious matter when it comes to the cutting.

Let keep it real people, if you have to cut in line, get arrested or curse people out for a deal, just save your time. Hell, if you wait to cyber Monday you might even get the same deal and you can stay in the confort of your own home!

Maybe one day I will brave the shoppers, but until then, Shouts out to the Internet!

Skincare Very Important!

Hello Followers!

Being a freelance artist, I can take about makeup all day but you have to make sure that you have a great skincare regimen going too. You don't want your skin to look old and wrinkly at 30, you want it to stay young, tight and pretty!

I know that some skin care products can be very expensive, but there are some things that you can do at your home that can give you that clear skin that all women want!

1. Drink lots of water!

It is very helpful to clear up your skin and make it even tone. I know some individuals may not like water, but it good for you and your skin. The best water would be from tap. It has the fluorine in it for your teeth and its not processed like some bottles of water. Plus its free. (free is always good!) Keep in mind, you can go weeks without food, but you cant go a week without water! Water Water Water. Drink it!

2. Moisturize your skin.

Don't get out the shower and not put some kind of moisturize face cream on your skin. It helps with the moisturize the skin and not dry up the skin. I wouldn't suggest any kind of perfume lotions or anything like that. I would suggest jergens, aveeno, cocoa butters, etc. But please make sure that you find something that works best for you.

3. A simple but last tip, Take two eggs and some honey and apply it to your skin.

This is somethings that you have at home and that you can use every other day and give yourself a mini facial. Per what I have read on many websites, it can smooth out your skin and tighten it up as well.

So above are a few different tricks to get that skin flawless and perfect.  I hope that you use some of the ideas and post your own and let me know how it goes!

Colors Colors Colors

Hey All!

So I am obsessing over color shadows! Its all about the colors and being adventurous! I was just reading Vogue and a lot of the ads are full of colors. Also some cosmetic companies are coming out with some amazing colors such as Revlon and Maybelline.

I am so glad that companies are taking a risk and bring out the colors in their ads. Take a look at a few of my favorite colors that I did on some of my girls. Even Miss Piggy is giving me some color!

Try it different colors be adventurous! Send me some pics!

I had to steal this look below from a friend on twitter @! A great look and some amazing

NYX Cosmetics!

Hello All!

As my obsession with my makeup continues, I want to give another brand to my makeup professionals and my make-up beginners. NYX cosmetics is another brand that I use on a daily basis. You know as I support MAC 100% but, it can be pricey and sometimes you have to use other options. So lets begin:

The company was founded by a lovely women Toni KO. NYX came from a greek mythology for, "greek godess who ruled the night".  She started this brand in 1999 and built it from the ground up. It is a brand for the women! NYX is a brand that doesn't test on animals. This is very important to me and to all my animals activists out there. So this is a plus for the brand.

As a freelance artist many people ask me what is a good brand to start off with and what I use all the time. The first thing that I say if you are starting off, you should use NYX and then work your way up to MAC. Also with that being said, may people ask me to compare the brands and these are my two comparisons:

1. It is an amazing product for the price. (Ranges from $2.50 to $35.00 dollars USD)
2. It seems to me (my personal opinion) that the colors, pigments, etc are about the same.

This helps my clients out a lot. Don't get me wrong there are some clients who can afford MAC right away and there are some that are on a college budget and need alternative brands.

As a make-up company, they have everything that you can think of. Foundation, primers (what goes on the lids so your shadows can stay), lipsticks, lip glosses, concealer, primer, eye liner, mascara, blushes, and on and on and on.

For all my Make-up geeks, please make sure that you try out this great brand. Its located at a lot of stores, Rite-Aid, Walgreens, etc. Test it out and let me know how you like the products. Also go to the website: nyxcosmetics.com

The Red Lip by MAC

Hello All!

So as everyone knows following this blog, I love make-up. So for this fall, the red lip is back. The thing about a red lip is, you can just wear the lip and nothing else. It gives the full appearance of a fully done face, well in my opinion.

In the video (the link is listed below) a MAC make-up artist explains how she gets the perfect red lip. She states that you have to have a lip liner, (i agree), your perfect red, (please make sure that you choose the best shade for you. Not all reds are agreeable for all skin), and a mirror.

She explains that you have to make sure that you angle your cupids bow, which is the v on the top of your lip, and line all around your lips. You can make this liner as thick or as thin as you would like, your preference. Once your outline is complete, make sure that you fill your lipstick in all the way around. This includes very tight corners of your lips. Red is a very dominate color and if the color is not distributed evenly, then it looks cracked and not good.

TIP: When you have finished with your lip stick your finger in your mouth and pull out so the access doesn't get on your lips!  (I know I know, make sure that you do that so when you are talking to that special someone you dont have lipstick on your teeth, trust me!)

Once complete give yourself  a pucker and go out and give the world your fierce lips! I hope you all enjoy this  info and go out and get some red lips! Muah! xoxo

BlackBook Midnight Mixologists Chicago Event Presented by Stoli Part 2

Hello All,

Here is part two of the BlackBook Event.

We last left off at the drink menu. As stated six out of seven drinks were amazing and here are all of the drinks listed below. Plus they are all pretty!

The above drinks were the two best drinks of the night for me! Absoluty delicious!

Next are all of the snacks that were provided for us throughout the whole time we were there. They were finger foods, some buffalo egg rolls, cheeseburgers, pretzels, and pizza (not pictured). Overall they are were pretty tasty and filling for all the drinks that we had that night.

Last but not least is our outfits and makeup from last night. I finally got the chance to make up Ari's face from last night. She has amazing eye curvature and she can take great colors to her skin. I cannot wait for the next even to make up her face. I love to beat a face. Hell y'all know that make-up is my passion.

I used a foundation of NW 55 from MAC, a translucent power from MAC that blends into any foundation, a bronzer from forever 21 beauty collection, for her shadows, I used my pallet from eyes, lips, face, Ari provided her own lip gloss. I think her look went well with her outfit and she has great eyes to shape for all colors.

Here is my outfit for that evening. I had foundation on from MAC NC45, MAC Power NC45, MAC blush, two combined colors, A bronzer from forever 21, two shadows from Victoria Secrets, and a light highlighter from my favorite eyes lips face pallet. A very polished and clean look with a pop of color!

My outfit was a pieced together at the last minute, because was women, we never know what to wear. The top is a vintage top from my grandmothers closet, a bow tie belt from H&M, Pants from Forever 21 Plus Sizes and my nude shoes from Shoedazzle.com.

Overall I want to send a huge thank you to Ari for thinking of me for this fabulous event. Congrats to BlackBook and Stoli for a fabulous event. Also if you are looking for something fun and somewhere different to go for drinks, please check out crossings.

You're Invited! BlackBook Midnight Mixologists Chicago Event Presented by Stoli

                                                                          Part One

Last night I was invited out by my friend Ari or @ on twitter. She always try to include me on some fun activities. So we went to a cute little bar called CROSSING on 2548 North Southport Avenue. It was an event present by Stoli and BlackBook. We got there around 8:30 and we thought it would be packed, but it was a very nice crowd there enjoying Stoli drinks. They had their magazines on the table as well as a photobooth for people to take pictures. The place was very cute, and very stylish, a great place to have an event as that.

On the cover of the BlackBook Magazine was Ashley Greene from the Twlight Saga. The magazine cover was gorge and the make-up was simple, yet fabulous. The scarf on Ashley is simply amazing and it was a major talk of the magazine. Also BlackBook is celebrating fifteen years of being in the magazine business and they partnered with stoli to celebrate a great milestone.

The book hits shelf's today, so make sure that you support and check a great and creative magazine.

These are some of my favorite pictures that was taken last night in the Stoli photo-booth. As you can see we did both a color and black and white, but I really really love the black photos. They are more candid and more fun. I thought that was a great touch to the event.

The two pictures are pictures of the drink list that they were serving last night. I must say the drinks were amazing! Out of the seven drinks that were served, I didn't like one out of the seven and that was the "Stoli Chinos Elitist" it was way too much going on, anywho the drinks were really fabulous and each one was very different loved them all.

Giselle Gatsby Photo shoot

Hello All,

I have been really following my passion and being a make-up artist and doing some fun and crazy shoots (see previous posts from the bottom). It was funny that I was just thinking about these pictures. I said to myself, self, you haven't gotten these pictures that you did a shoot for about three weeks ago. I just went to my phone and there are the pictures in my email! To me the shoot was something different other than the glamour photos. I really really love them and I love how my work is involving!

OAN: As a good make-up artist you only know how to do one kind of face. As a great make-up artist you can do all types of faces, Black, White, Asian, Mexican, etc. I feel that I am in the process of being a great MUA!

Take a look at my pictures and tell me what you think!

Photoshoot Weekend! Part 2 Olu Maintain: Nawti

This weekend was really busy, but very exciting. This shoot was for Olu Maintain: Nawti. This was a two day shoot. I must say this shoot was super crazy. I did about 14 faces over a two day shoot. The pictures that are listed below are from the first day. They are not the best quality, but you can get a feel for my color pallet for all the girls.

The second to last picture, I had to do her makeup twice. She had to get in the pool and play the flute. I did the same look on her twice and it was amazing both times. I also had to do the artist makeup. He didn't know that I could give him a clean lining with make-up. He was very impressed and I cannot wait for the video to come out so I can feature it here on my blog. Everyone that I made up that day was a complete doll and was happy to have me there.

Here are a few pictures below:

Photoshoot Weekend! Judi from BGC7

Hello my followers!

It has been a long but exciting weekend. I had a video shoot, (that will be in another blog) and I had the honor of working with Judi from the Bad Girls Club season 7. If you don't know who she is, you must be living under a rock or your don't have cable. She is the breakout star of season 7. She was known for carrying her purse, "getting it cracking", and her voodoo doll, Ms. Voodoo.

I had the honor of doing her make-up this past Sunday and it was so much fun. I just want to say that she was an amazing person to work with. She didn't change and she is more beautiful in person, and a tiny little women too. The stylist on the shoot were amazing and helped with the look they wanted for her shoot. The clothes were amazing, Judi put in work, and we all "got it cracking".

Here are a few pictures from the shoot:

This final picture was posted later on twitter (@), and it made me feel awesome that she still had on the makeup that I had did earlier from the shoot.

Thanks Judi and I look forward to working with you in the future! Best of luck in all of her future endeavors.
